Friday Oct. 1st
This day was Guan's birthday and the plan was that we were gonna have dinner and then go clubbing. The boys tend to be really bad at planning. They told us via email to meet at Shinsaibashi station, but didn't specify which exit. Josephine and I got there about half an hour early. In the end we waited about an hour and a half because I checked my email with Josephine's phone and Martijn sent a message saying they'd be half an hour late. A couple of guys saw us looking extremely confused and approached us and asked if we were OUSSEP students. We said yes, and turned out they were there meeting for the same people as well. What's funny is that they're in the same dorm as the other guys... and still managed to get to the place on time. We gave up after searching the closest exits and went out to eat some sushi. The strangers we met (second time this has happened.._ are from Korea. One is Oh and the other is Junu. Pretty friendly guys. =) We took some purikura and played a few video games before calling it a night.
Saturday Oct. 2nd:
My host family picked me up from my flat and took me to their house to have dinner. IT WAS AWESOME.
They also invited their youngest son, Shusuke, and his wife, Sachi. They have a little one-year-old boy named Sousuke. c: Their middle son lives with them and his name is Yusuke. Their daughter Akiko lives in Taiwan, but she'll be coming back at the end of this month until next year so I'll get to see her soon as well.
Sunday Oct. 3rd:
Went to Senri-Chuo with my flat mate Josephine, her classmate from Finland Crystal, and our neighbors Alexandra and Sammi. Mostly did it because my host family said it was the closest "city" to where we live and it's only like.. a 10 minute bus ride. Plus more exploring had to be done. Some of the shops were pretty expensive but we managed to find a really cute shop called Honey's that was in our general price range. After that we went to get kaiten zushi. We basically ended up here cause it was our cheapest option. I've gotten into the habit of walking faster than everyone else when we're searching for something. Crystal and Alexandra have a tendency to complain for 10 minutes longer than one would need to whenever we find something that's too expensive.
This was a little tea shelf they had on the table. :D
Even though it was kaiten zushi we all ordered real dishes. XD
The shopping center.
After more walking around and a long debate about whether we should do karaoke or not, we headed home. A few nights ago I made soup with daikon, meat, and whatnot and Josephine wanted to make it again. She says she doesn't really know how to cook without an oven since I guess that's what they use a lot in Finland, so I have no choice but to teach her how to make other things. But here's our soup!
That day I also bought a little planner from Saty (the mall next to kitasenri station)
It has the train maps for Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, and Tokyo!
Also bought a little album for purikura. c:
